Welcome to the Brain Plasticity Laboratory at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University
Our team uses cognitive neuroscience approaches to investigate the neural mechanisms underlying learning and brain plasticity. Using experimental paradigms in visual perceptual learning and motor learning together with functional magnetic resonance imaging, transcranial magnetic stimulation, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and related methods, we study plasticity in the visual system and brain-cerebellar circuits, and the relationships among cognitive functions, brain activity, network organization, and neurochemical changes. We also use disease and aging models to examine how education, occupation, and life experience may influence brain aging and plasticity in older adults, with the goal of developing effective cognitive and perceptual-learning training approaches for aging populations.
